We've had a BUSY couple of weeks leading up to the break! Thank you so much for all of your support of our many activities: Santa's Secret Shoppe, Ballroom Showcase, STEM Fairs, Fine Arts Concert, Book Fair, and Classroom Parties, to name a few. Your children are truly amazing, and we love celebrating their accomplishments!
I have to take a minute to mention how impressed I was with the quality of the projects your children entered in the STEM Fair! We had so many really well-executed investigations and engineered devices that I wish we could send more than 8 to compete in the District STEM Fair. Thank you to all of the teachers and parents who supported the students' investigation and learning.
I hope you have a safe and happy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!

Westridge Wildcats, you are amazing! I don't just include the students in this, but the parents, teachers, and staff of Westridge as well. We live in an amazing community! I want to share some of the great things that have happened in just the past few weeks here at Westridge.
Tuesday, Nov. 22 -- You gave my oldest sister Sarah a great birthday present by giving me a PIE IN THE FACE! I'm so proud of the 2304 food items that you brought to school. There are hungry people that won't be hungry any more because of your generosity!
Nov. 9-16 -- Kindness Poster Contest, sponsored by the Westridge Kindness Club
Our Kindness Club sponsored a poster contest for all grades. We had amazing entries submitted, and each class chose a class winner. Then the grade level winners were posted in the hall outside the lunchroom for everyone to see and Dr. Hank chose the grade level winners. He said it was SO HARD to choose, but here are some of the winners:
Thanks to the hard work of the Kindness Club and Anne Lowe, our Social Worker Intern, winners received coupons to Pizza Pie Cafe, Hang Time, and ice cream, along with a Jimmer-signed basketball from Jimmerosity!
I'm grateful to work with such talented people, and especially today that our Administration Team is so willing to do silly things to show our kids that we love them and the wonderful things they do.
Mrs. Reader, Facilitator Mrs. Thomas, Principal Mr. Barker, STEM Coordinator
I sincerely wish you a Happy Thanksgiving Break!

Hello Westridge students, parents, and faculty!
I'm so excited to start the new school year with you! I attended Westridge as a student, my children came to Westridge, and now I'm back as the Principal. I hope you had a great first day of school! I want to tell you a little bit about my first day.
First of all, you need to know that I'm a twin. My twin sister, who lives in Chicago, called a few days before school started and was so excited that we were about to start school that she wanted to do something fun to celebrate with me since she was so far away. She asked if she could buy me lunch on my first day, or send flowers. I said, "No. All I want is you." Guess what she did??
The first day of school I came into my office and found this:
It's a poster of her holding flowers with big smile and a 'thumbs-up.' Wasn't that cool? My parents sneaked into my office and hung it up while I was meeting all of you, so I didn't even see them doing it. I took a picture of the two of us together so you can see how much we look alike. The surprise made my whole day extra special! What made your first day special?
I can't wait to get to know you all even better this school year. Keep being wonderful Westridge Wildcats!
